CHRISTMAS THEME: Nov 29 - Dec 28, 2012:

The Christmas theme started Thursday, November 29th with some new quests. See all the different quest details on the QUEST PAGE.

Surprise Seeds:

With this new theme, they also changed most seasonal seed share posts so they now share surprise seeds instead of the same seed as was just harvested. Seasonal seeds are the only source of Candy Cane Trees needed for quests, so this allows players to find lots of them! Here's a reply from the developers that another player got when asking about them:

"This was a planned change we made to reduce the number of outdated theme plants being posted and shared in the game; current active theme weed will still share itself, whereas outdated theme weed will now share Surprise Seeds in posts. This is to make sure that farmers trying to complete theme quests aren't suffering.

Surprise Seeds are awesome in a lot of ways...they offer totally random Theme Weed, with a chance to hit huge multipliers! We think this is for the best and certainly hope you'll agree!"

Upgrade brewery to Winter Ale Brewery:

12/6/12: Upgrade a regular brewery with 5 Candy Canes, 5 Snow, and 5 Christmas Lights and it becomes a Winter Ale Brewery. Ingredients to run it are 1 candy cane and 1 hemp ale. In 2 minutes, you get 1 winter ale and 25xp. See more on the CONTRAPTIONS PAGE.

Santa Trap #1:

The first new quest pays out a Santa Trap. Build it and it becomes a BAD SANTA which is a 4x Holly Berry repeater (1 4x every 6 hours - takes 2 spaces). It requires 10 candy canes, 10 christmas cookies, 10 snow, 10 winter ale, 10 christmas lights and 5 helpers.

Upgrade Weedfalia Hydros:

NEW: For a limited time, upgrade a Weedfalia Hydro from 150 to 175 capacity. See more details. They're were back in the store for only a week too.

UPDATE from the devs regarding the level 7 "Christmas Upgrade" for the Weedfalia Hydro: "the option to do the Christmas upgrade will disappear when the theme ends but previously upgraded Weedfalias will remain in their upgraded state."

December 14 Update:

NEW QUESTS released Dec 14th, including a new CHRONIC QUEST PACK! Lots of new items too!

Santa Trap #2: Earned from a quest. 4 spaces. Build with 10 bricks, ? candy canes, 10 christmas cookies, 50 hemp milk, 10 christmas lights, and 6 helpers and it becomes "Dick Stole Christmas". Generates 5 candy canes and 100 xp every 1 hour.

Wild Cow upgrades to Chronic Cow Contraption. 2 spaces. Earned from a quest. Build with 10 lumber, 10 water pumps, 10 rain water, 10 wrenches, and 5 helpers. Ingredients: 1 corn, 1 hemp. Runs for 45 seconds and produces 1xp and 1 hemp milk. Does not share when collecting.

The new Planta Claus seeds are available as gifts. When harvested 1x shares 4x. 4x and 9x are in the store. 4x shares 9x. 9x shares Holly Berry 20x and so does Planta Claus 20x (found from mystery seeds, etc.) You can collect up to 20/day of each of these.

DEC 20 UPDATE: ELF QUESTS:

New quests now available. Not sure yet what level they unlock. As always, check the QUEST PAGE for details.

New item: Caged Elves in the store for $19 pb and also the first reward of the new quest chain. (4 spaces -100 protection.) Upgrade with 5 each candy canes, Christmas Cookies, Hemp Milk, Snow, and Christmas Lights. That turns it into an Elf Triage with -100 protection. Invite or hire 5 helpers and it turns into an Elf Work Bench which is a repeater generating 5 Elves every 30 minutes. Elf Work Bench is +100 protection. This repeater shares! You can collect up to 50 elves per day from newsfeed share posts.

DEC 21 UPDATE: REINDEER!

The Reindeer are all collected from 'Reindeer Traps' (which are sold like Mystery Eggs). Each one is a Repeater for Christmas theme weed as shown below. Each is 1 space and offers no protection. Each of them give 100xp when collecting. They do not offer shares when collecting.

Buy reindeer traps (tracks) in the lower left corner of the game for $8 pb each. Upgrade with 1 each Candy Canes, Christmas Cookies and Christmas Lights. Then get 3 helpers and you get a reindeer! Only available to buy through Christmas. Extended through Dec 28! (I'm sure your results will vary, but it only took me 13 reindeer traps to get all 9 reindeer!)

• Blitzen gives 3x Christmas Kush every 3 hours
• Donner gives 10x Christmas Kush every 6 hours
• Dancer gives 4x Planta Claus every 4 hours
• Prancer gives 9x Planta Claus every 5 hours
• Cupid gives 20x Planta Claus every 10 hours
• Dasher gives 4x Holly Berry every 4 hours
• Comet gives 9x Holly Berry every 7 hours
• Vixen gives 20x Holly Berry every 8 hours
• Rudolph gives 50x Holly Berry every 4 hours

Santa Trap #3 (the final of the Santa Trap series) is actually called "Sleigh Parts". Earn "Sleigh Parts" from an Xmas 2012 quest. Build with 12 each candy canes, red paint, corrugated sheet metal, snow, wrenches, and 12 helpers. Once it's fully built, it becomes "Santa Claus" which is a GIFT contraption (generating 1 GIFT every 24 hours). (Kind of like a mystery crate contraption.) It runs on 1 Cookies (from Cookie Bush) and 10 Hemp Milk.

Note: There's a long list of gift items this contraption can payout, and it appears that it's cutoff though, so I don't think the list is complete.

Mystery Boxes:

The devs brought back Mystery Boxes (for pot bucks) on 12/26 for Boxing Day (one day only).
