The WESTERN theme runs from July 25 - August 16, 2013.

SEEDS FOR THIS THEME:

• 1x Tumble Weed: Giftable, 1 XP plant, 9 XP harvest, 6 hour grow time, protection -1
• 4x Tumble Weed: 2PB, 4 XP plant, 36 XP harvest, 6 hour grow time, protection -1
• 9x Tumble Weed: 1FBC, 9 XP plant, 81 XP harvest, 6 hour grow time, protection -1
• Agave: 1XP plant, 250 XP harvest, 2 hour grow time, protection 15. Only found in mystery seeds and as a quest prize.
• Peyote Pot: 10XP plant, 22000XP harvest, 2 day grow time, protection 250. Available from quests and the Peyote Express repeater (which is also available from a quest.)
• Ditch Weed isn't new but is used heavily for this theme. You can get a lot from looter crates (see below), repeaters, visiting neighbors, surprise seeds, etc.

Theme Rundown:

Here's a general rundown that should answer most questions about where to find certain things and what things do. (Scroll to the bottom of this page for pictures of all items from this theme. Click on them for more info.)

In the 4th quest of the "Prize" chain of quests, you get a busted up saloon. (It's also available now in the store for 150,000 coins!) The SALOON is a multi-level, variable output Tequila contraption. It runs on Agave (read on) and tumble weed, takes up 12 spaces, and has a 6 hour run time (though you can run it instantly with guano).

• Tequila Saloon LVL 1: Build with 5 lumber and 6 helpers. Produces 2 or 5 or 8 Tequila
• Tequila Saloon LVL 2: Build with 7 lumber. Produces 3 or 7 or 10 Tequila
• Tequila Saloon LVL 3: Build with 33 lumber. Produces 5 or 11 or 15 Tequila
• Tequila Saloon LVL 4: Build with 41 lumber. Produces 6 or 13 or 21 Tequila

Agave, needed to run the Saloon, is only found in mystery seeds and as a quest prize.

The Gold Panner contraption is the prize from the 10th quest in the "Prize" chain. It runs on the Tequila you got from the Saloon (be sure to "use" the tequila from your gift box to move it to your stash). It produces varying amounts of Gold Nuggets or Ditch Weed in 4 hours. Like all contraptions, it can be fertilized with guano to be ready instantly.

Gold Nuggets from the Gold Panner are a requirement for some quests. You can also find them from the Looter Crates.

"Looters Crates" are available for this entire theme (12,499 coins each). They are a good source of Ditch Weed and Gold Nuggests. They also give a lot of other stuff (some of which is used for some Scavenger quests).

Peyote Pot is needed for some quests. It's only available from quests and the Peyote Express repeater (a top prize from the "Prize" chain of quests.)

This theme is expected to end on August 16, 2013. The Spirit Journey chain keeps going for an extra 2 weeks (Aug 30).

Miscellaneous:

In this theme, we get the long anticipated POT FARM DONKEY, "Kenny the Dankey". (See bigger picture.) (Congrats to Kenny. He's been posting donkey pictures on the PF wall every day for nearly a year. It looks like he finally wore them down. See story on right side.)
